Need a ride??
Well, as you can see our transportation is taken care of and we will be saving on petrol too… we gotta stay on budget you know. Accommodations are decided upon and will be finished up this week, which will also make a wonderful improvement to Mpampo. We will not be staying in the same buildings as last year.I had a crazy moment today where Richard & I went to pick up the Morsbach vehicle from the shop. Once we picked it up, I was to drive the Golf back to Mpampo and Richard was going to make another stop. Richard turned off and I continued down the road coming back from Okahandja. Well, in front of the wood carvers market (for those who have been here) the car stalled and would not start. A man stopped as I was pushing the car out of the road and asked if he could help. It appeared that the car was out of petrol (another reason we are switching to donkeys). I grabbed the cell phone out of my pocket and told him I would be fine. Just then I realized that I have the new cell phone and did not take the opportunity to add the phone numbers (which I had thought about doing several times)…. ugh…. The man then told me just to let the car roll backwards to the petrol station (which is only a two minute walk from where I was) and then he took off. I looked and realized that I was definitely not out of gas (and Richard was no longer in trouble) but now I had a couple of choices…. Walk to Mpampo (a few km away) or walk to the petrol station and hope that Richard arrived back to Mpampo soon and would come looking for me. As I was standing there trying to decide my best option the man came back and asked me if I needed a ride… “No, thank you…. I will be fine.” I said with a smile as I thought what does he think I am crazy??? I don’t even have my secret weapon, the man-slaying killer whistle! So then I explained to the man that I was not out of petrol. I got into the car and he was more than ready to help me get it going… the car started almost right away and I let the guy know how much he was my hero. So, what did I learn from this experience?? When you think about doing something and you don’t… pay attention… God just might be telling you to take care of business… and even if you don’t listen, He will always send an angel to guide and watch over you…

Glad it turned out okay G. You had me worried!
Mike, who is that with Casablanca?
hey germy, im glad everything worked out well! hehe... pastor darin... i guess casablanca found his mexican senorita first and now he's leaving mike behind ;)
Mexican Seniorita is a song that the humanitarian and guitarist Mike Knight wrote about his desire to one day find a Mexican bride. In the song Casablanca is his faithful companion (a donkey).
okay...so I was reading faster than my mind could process...Mike's hoping for a Mexican donkey for a bride???
Actually in re-reading - this is what the logic says
Mike sings about desire for mexican bride
Bride (Wife) is helpmate / companion (Darin's sermon recently)
Donkey is companion
Desire Bride to be donkey
And watch out.....those that go on this trip just MIGHT come back with a bride!!! Check out the photo "Need a Ride"!!! One of those two just might be HER......
