On The Road Again

Well... It's been an intensive weekend... Friday we traveled to Rehoboth where the girls had a spectacular performance on Saturday evening where they danced their hearts out at the town hall. Hope's Promise sold over 900 tickets, the audience was not that big, but the hall was quite full. They encored the tap dancers which has been a HUGE hit when it's been performed.

Sunday we had our own personal church service at the Reho Spa where our Namibia Worship Band played and Sylvia gave a wonderful message that touched our hearts. Then we were off to Arandis.

We arrived in Arandis with an hour until the "show". The girls danced in an outdoor amphi-theater. Mike & Sumner played a few songs and then Darin shared a message about why we are here. It was like they were a bunch of rock stars... we needed to rush the girls off to a secret location since the crowd gathered at our hotel. Currently we are at the Knights for dinner and then tomorrow morning at 7:00am the girls will be performing at the secondary school here in Arandis, so I need to make this a quick post. After that we will drive a half hour to Swakopmund to see the coast and should be back home to Joan & Dieter's in the afternoon.

Hi Nate, Your team should plant a tree to replace the one you cut down. How about a couple of orange trees. Granddad is doing well. Gaining strength each day. Love, Mom

Samantha, Dad and I got back from the Cape today. Chatam was great the Janiak's house came out really nice. One of the rainy days we went to Provincetown it was amazing, I loved it. I want to take you and Heather there before you go to school.
I'm glad your writing in your journal but hey if you don't feel like it one day just sketch something! Keep up a stiff upper lip- everyone has been in close quarters for a long time and some stressful situations. Sounds like Dieter's is a great place to plant yourself. I should have your room done before you get back - it came outgreat so far-I'm so into overkill, I even picked up stuff at the Cape for it. I really hope you like it, because I had fun doing it for you. Anyway, I'm thinking about you and can't wait till your home. I know you will sleep well.
LOVE YA
MOM

Hi Diandre and Adria -

Another busy day! More great performances! Keep up the good work. From all reports your mission of "Dancing To Make A Difference" is working.

Diandre - I hope your back problem has subsided and you are still enjoying your dancing.

How was the trip to the coast? Are the Atlantic beaches like the beautiful, long sandy beaches at Myrtle Beach, the more congested areas like Hampton Beach, or the rocky coast of Maine?

Grandpa and I spent the weekend cleaning up his office. The trash men will hate us this week - their load will be quite heavy! We also moved my PC upstairs. I will spend some time this week organizing the area.

We think of you daily. Are your ears burning? We hope and pray for your safety and continued good health. Hope you are getting enough rest and enjoying(?) the African food. Any favorites?

Thank you, Darin and Sandi, for the heartwarming journal entries. You have touched all our hearts here in the States. Thank you also for the spiritual and emotional support you have given to all the dancers on this trip. You will long be remembered in their hearts.

Less than a week to go! We hope you continue to enjoy your dancing and the awesome experience you are having. We look forward to seeing you, hearing your stories, and viewing your pictures.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Stay safe. See you soon.

Love from Grandma & Grandpa Blicker

I hope you get a chance to give me a call---I will keep my cell phone on and by my side 24-7 all week long just in case! I will not be working again until Saturday! Enjoy the rest of your mission there and bring home lots of memories of your new friends!

Diandre and Adria......

Sure is quite around here. No one pounding at the keyboard IM'ing..just Dad with refresh,refresh...
It's going to be a harder week stateside as your traveling more. That means less news possibly. Glad Germaine was able to get a quick rundown of the weekend in.
I hope Mike enjoyed seeing his folks. Course the extra 20 or so people that tagged along might have been a bit much. If I recall correctly, Arandis is one of the poorest areas that you will see on this trip. That must seem an odd contrast to the beach community only 1/2 hour away and more affluent.
This second week is a chance for new experiences - different than last week. Hopefully you are not to tired to take them in with the same enthusiasm. Pictures and journals will keep it fresh for you.

Take care..miss you both...love Mom
