Darin's Journal

Journal Entry 7-06-05 12:30am

I need to go to sleep! I just can't seem to separate myself for a moment from my desire to spend time with these kids. The girls first performance today (yesterday) was amazing. I was blown away at how emotional they all became as they danced... tears poured down each of their faces. It was outside, the dust was flying. I didn't get to watch from the front. During the first song our generator started to die so I spent the entire time laying hands on and praying over our generator. In 12 years of Pastoral Ministry I have prayed a lot, but don't ever remember praying for a piece of machinery.

The girls time with children in Vyf Rand was moving once again. Lord will You visit upon these girls schedule again tomorrow?

Additional Notes:
From Darin to Shari - The girls and I are doing great. I miss you tremendously. Luv u more.

From Alicia - Hi all! Thanks for sending me here. The people are so beautiful! Tony - you would love the weather. Warm and dry in the day, cool and dry at night. The kids are always so happy to see us. I just hope that we are doing something that will really last. Helping them to feel loved & worthy enough to want to make something of their lives. At any rate, the trip was definitely worth it! Please continue to pray for health.

Samantha- talking with you on the phone tonight was great. You sound very relaxed, hope you still want to come home!! Miss you very much but I know this is much more important and special than me missing you, I could tell in your voice. Wish I was with you. Thank the group from the church and the host family for making this an experience you will never forget. This was meant to be.
LOVE
MOM

Carli, I was so happy to talk to you today, When I first answered the phone I forgot you were in Africa! What a great surprise, Dad was sad he missed your call. You sounded a little down, don't be, you guys are doing such a wonderful thing. Seeing those kids smiling and laughing w/you girls is priceless. Roman just walked in and told me to tell he misses you and be careful. Make sure you take lots of pictures. If you guys go to Africa again I think alot of Moms will be w/you. Tell Darin to be on the lookout for a big cheeseburger. Tell Sandy I said Hi and thanks for all she's doing w/you guys. Love you and miss you, Mom xo xo xo

To Steph & Steph: Waaaaaa! We missed your phone calls tonight! We are sad about that! Dee, Bonnie and I were in Boston at the Hynes cheering Brittany on at Nationals!! She did a great job dancing and was very happy that we were there for her! Besides her parents, we were her fan club!! We got in our fill of dances----37 female solos and 11 male solos! Ugh! We got teary eyed only a couple of times when we heard things and songs that reminded us of you both! HaHa! We love you and can't wait to get to talk to you in person! Hugs and Kisses from the Crying Club President and her Sidekick!
